PAR Systems have worked over a long period of time to provide a replacement manipulator system to IFE’s PIE facility in Kjeller, Norway. This project has involved modernising a manipulator system that has faithfully served for nearly six decades. CORE Nuclear Solutions (Formerly PAR Systems UK) has taken on the challenge of designing, building, and integrating the new system, ensuring compliance with stringent regulatory requirements.
Having been in service since 1962, the previous manipulator system at IFE’s PIE facility had reached an impressive longevity. As technology has advanced over the years, the need for a more advanced and efficient system became apparent. CORE Nuclear Solutions (Formerly PAR Systems UK) has brought their extensive knowledge and experience to the table, taking on the role of designer, builders, and system integrator of the project, including all CE Marking, meeting IAEA specification and Norwegian control systems requirements.
