In the two weeks leading up to the Bank Holiday weekend, we hosted our first sets of work experience cohorts of 2023.
We were delighted to host Alex Needham and Carter Skimming from UTC Workington. Alex and Carter (Year 10) spent a week working alongside Maintenance and Design Teams to gain insight into how an engineering company operates. The following week, we were delighted to host Sophia Wallis—a Cockermouth 6th Form A-level student. Sophie was interested in Engineering Design, and her work with our design team showed that she definitely had what it takes to succeed as an engineer in the future!
We have eight more students coming to us over the next few months from various local schools within Cumbria and are looking forward to meeting, mentoring and supporting each one.
Feedback from students has been overwhelmingly positive, which is a credit to the incredible PAR staff who have created and delivered this training and mentoring.
It’s been an incredible few weeks and we are very proud of the team and the fantastic students.
